Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY! With warm winds and weather in the wings, your favorite home team Gryphons took on Black Banana on 19 April at Carroll High with this game having playoff implications for both teams. Taking an early 1 to nil lead on a man up worm-burner from Lance Zimmerman, the Good Guys in Green and Gold continued to capitalize as John Hartnett sank one of his two goals in the game, and the team continued to post a 4-0 lead headed into the half.

The Second Stanza? Not so spectatular as the Gryphons came out flat in the third period and saw their lead dwindle as the offense coughed up a few turnovers that were then well played by the Rotten Platanos as they took a 5-4 lead into the 4th period with great coast to coast transition from Mike Kusner. Although the Gryphs continued to play hard with both Tank and Urbinati keeping the pipes tight, the Gryphons saw their chance to take it into OT as two shots deep into the fourth quarter found orange pipe and the Banana goalie's chest within the final two minutes of play. Final Score: Banana 8, Gryphons 7.
